TOUCH A HEART 2016

On 20th February 2016, EELIT collaborated with Metta Day Rehabilitation Centre for the Elderly to organize a heartwarming event. Through the support of EELIT and friends, over $8,000 was raised to sponsor food and toiletry hampers for approximately 60 elderly individuals from diverse races and religions.

The event aimed to provide the elderly with a unique and memorable Chinese New Year celebration. It featured a range of activities including games, performances, karaoke sessions, and a vegetarian lunch buffet. The highlight of the event was a special appearance by the “God of Fortune,” bringing an added sense of joy and festivity.

The elderly guests had the opportunity to experience a Chinese New Year celebration that was distinct from their everyday routine. The event not only provided them with essential items through the sponsored hampers but also offered entertainment and social interaction.

The presence of Mr. Desmond Choo, Member of Parliament for Tampines Changkat, was an honor and added significance to the occasion. His attendance demonstrated the community’s support and recognition of the importance of such initiatives.

Overall, the event successfully brought joy, entertainment, and a sense of community to the elderly attendees, allowing them to have a memorable Chinese New Year experience.
